Students are expected to:
Ø Be a positive influence on others.
Ø Follow classroom rules.
Ø Come prepared to class daily.
Ø Complete assignments by their due date.
Ø Work to the BEST of your ability.
Ø Actively participate in cooperative groups and classroom discussions.
Classroom Procedures:
When you arrive in class, you need to:
Ø Make sure you have all of the materials
Ø Take out your homework and place it on the upper right side of your desk.
Ø Bell-ringer problems will be on the board at the front of the room. These problems may be collected for a grade or reviewed in class. You will have 5 - 7 minutes to complete the bell-ringer problems from the time class starts. Tardiness to class takes away from the minutes you have to complete the problems.
Ø Activity/Practice of the day’s lesson.
Ø No food or drink is allowed in class. (Bottled water only)
Ø Do not talk while I am talking or while another student is sharing information with the class.
Ø If you have a question or comment, raise your hand.
Ø Respect the teacher. Respect your classmates. Respect yourself.
Ø Take advantage of the time given to you in class to complete class-work/homework assignments.
Ø At the sound of the bell, I will be the one who dismisses you.
Homework Policy:
***You will have at least 2 – 3 homework assignments each week.***
1. Homework is due at the beginning of the period.
2. If you are absent the day an assignment is due, it is due the day you return to class.
3. LATE WORK: Students are allowed to turn in late work. Students MUST fill out a pink slip and turn in both the pink slip and late work to receive any credit for the assignment.
1 Day Late: 75%
2 Days Late: 50%
3 Days Late: 25%
4 Days Late: 0%
Absence Policy:
1. It is your responsibility to come in before or after an absence to get homework and assignments from the class you miss. Ask Coach Adams if you have any questions.
2. You will have as many days as you were absent to make up missed work.
3. When you submit an assignment after the due date because you were absent, you must write “ABSENT” at the top of your paper to receive full credit.
Tardy Policy:
1. After three unexcused tardies, you will receive a phone call home and detention.
2. After your fourth tardy, you will receive a referral.
